IDM CC Firefox Addon for Firefox 10

It took a little time to give you all a working IDM CC Firefox addon for the currently beta FireFox 10.
You can download the XPI file below.

Download IDM-CC for Firefox 10

Installation Instructions

  1. Extract the .ZIP file that you downloaded
  2. Go to Add-ons page of your Firefox 10 web browser.
  3. Click on Install add-on from file... menu item

    4. Select the menu item on Firefox 10 to Install Internet Download Manager extension

  4. Now choose the .XPI that you just extracted from the .ZIP file you downloaded above
  5. Install Add-on

    6. Install IDM CC for Firefox 10

  6. Boom! We installed IDM CC for Firefox 10! Now restart your browser

    7. Restart Firefox 10 after installing IDM CC

  7. :)
  8. Don't forget to come back to the site and say thanks in a comment

I couldn't get it to install. I uninstalled Firefox 10. Then uninstalled IDM. This enabled me to get rid of the IDM CC 7.3.1 that is so resistant to removal. However, as soon as I reinstalled IDM, IDM CC 7.3.1 came back on the next load of Firefox 10. Its disabled, course. But it looks like the attempt to install IDM CC for Firefox 10 just gets ignored. I get no instruct to restart Firefox and IDM CC 7.3.1 is still there, disabled like always. Attempting a test download, it is not taken over by IDM. How did others get this to work? What am I doing wrong?

Try this.
Install firefox 10 first. I guess you are installing firefox 10 beta 6.
Install IDM software(not addon).
Then, in IDM settings, make sure you have enabled firefox integration and 'advanced integration' check box on.
In Firefox Addons page, see if Firefox Addon is enabled.
If it's disabled, download the addon from above link, and then install the .xpi file from addons page(extract downloaded ZIP file, and choose it in the file browser that you get when clicking on "install addon from file" menu item in the gear icon in Addons page)
It will take a minute to get Addon updated.
Restart Firefox when asked.

I am very grateful to you for taking the time and effort to make IDM functional in the newer Firefox versions. As much as I like Firefox, and I do very much, I would regretfully abandon it if my IDM did not work. Damn. I just finished and posted a stupid comment that had nothing to do with anything but was a lot of fun to create and I see your thank you and compliment about my original post and I am a bit embarrassed. I meant what I said about my appreciation and gratitude for your IDM CC addon AND for enabling me to continue using Firefox. I hope my playing around in my last post doesn't put doubt in your or anyone else's mind about the sincerity of my thanks. If not for your efforts, the simple click to "Download with IDM" many of us just take for granted would vanish with the newer Firefox versions. This would seriously diminish my web browsing enjoyment. I am very glad when Mozilla "drops the ball" there are people like you who have not only the ability but also the willingness to "pick the ball back up and run with it". I doubt many people have a realistic concept of the effort required to modify an addon's code with every new Firefox version to keep it functioning correctly. BRAVO!
